Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using SchoolKit.tools, you agree to be bound by these terms of service. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you (the user) and the operators of SchoolKit.tools. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must immediately discontinue use of our website and tools.

By using our tools on behalf of a school or other organization, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that organization to these terms. If you do not have such authority, you must not use the tools on behalf of that organization.

Description of Service

SchoolKit.tools provides a growing suite of free, browser-based school administration tools. All tools run entirely client-side in your browser and do not require account creation, registration, or any form of user authentication. Currently, we offer the following tools:

  • Academic Calendar Builder — Create and customize academic calendars with terms, holidays, and events. Export as PDF or share via link.
  • Exam Timetable Builder — Generate examination timetables with subject, date, time, and venue details. Supports conflict checking.
  • Attendance Register Generator — Build printable attendance registers for classes and events with customizable date ranges.
  • School Communication Templates — Generate professional letters, notices, and announcements for parents, staff, and students.
  • Parent-Teacher Meeting Scheduler — Create meeting schedules with time slots and share booking links with parents.
  • Fee Receipt Generator — Generate and print fee payment receipts with school branding, student details, and payment breakdowns.
  • Teacher Lesson Planner — Plan lessons with objectives, activities, materials, and assessment notes. Export as PDF.
  • School Event Calendar — Create interactive event calendars with OpenStreetMap location integration and shareable event links.

We may add, modify, or discontinue tools at our discretion without prior notice.

No Data Collection

Our tools process all data locally in your browser using client-side JavaScript. We do not collect, store, transmit, or have access to any data you enter into our tools. Any information saved using your browser's localStorage remains on your device and can be cleared by you at any time through browser settings or per-tool reset buttons.

The only information we receive is anonymized analytics data through Google Analytics, which includes page views, tool usage patterns, and browser type. This data cannot be linked to you or to any data you enter into our tools. For complete details, see our Privacy Policy.

User Responsibilities

As a user of SchoolKit.tools, you agree to the following responsibilities:

  • Accurate Information — You are responsible for the accuracy of any information you enter into our tools. We do not verify, validate, or correct user-provided data.
  • Lawful Use — You agree not to use our tools for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable local, state, national, or international laws or regulations.
  • No Misuse — You agree not to attempt to disrupt, overload, or compromise our website or its infrastructure, including but not limited to denial-of-service attacks, automated scraping, or reverse engineering.
  • No Harmful Content — You agree not to generate or share content that is defamatory, harassing, discriminatory, or otherwise harmful through our tools or shareable links.
  • Shareable Links — You are responsible for how you share links generated by our tools. Shared links contain encoded data and should be handled with appropriate care.

Intellectual Property

The SchoolKit.tools name, logo, brand assets, tool designs, user interface, and underlying software code are our intellectual property and are protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use our tools for your school's or organization's internal administration purposes. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works from, publicly display, reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of SchoolKit.tools without our prior written permission.

Output generated by our tools (PDFs, calendars, schedules, etc.) may be used freely for your educational or administrative purposes. We make no claim of ownership over the data you enter or the outputs you generate.

Disclaimer of Warranties

SchoolKit.tools is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranty of any kind, whether express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.

While we strive for accuracy and reliability in all our tools, we cannot guarantee that:

  • Outputs from the Exam Timetable Builder are free of scheduling conflicts
  • Fee Receipt Generator calculations are mathematically error-free
  • Attendance Register date ranges are correctly computed
  • Academic Calendar holiday dates match your specific jurisdiction
  • The tools will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
  • Any defects in the tools will be corrected

You use our tools at your own discretion and risk. We recommend verifying critical outputs before use in official school operations.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, SchoolKit.tools and its operators, affiliates, and contributors shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages arising from or relating to your use of our website or tools.

This limitation of liability applies to all damages of any kind, including but not limited to:

  • Scheduling errors resulting in missed examinations or meetings
  • Data loss from clearing browser storage or cache
  • Reliance on generated outputs for official school records
  • Third-party claims arising from shareable link content
  • Service interruptions, downtime, or tool unavailability
  • Unauthorized access to shareable links containing encoded data
  • Any damages resulting from the use or inability to use any tool

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless SchoolKit.tools, its operators, affiliates, and contributors from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from or relating to:

  • Your use of our website and tools
  • Your violation of these terms of service
  • Your violation of any applicable law or regulation
  • Any data or content you enter, generate, or share using our tools

Third-Party Services

Our website integrates with the following third-party services, each of which has its own terms of service and privacy policy that govern your use of their services:

  • Google Analytics — Provides anonymized usage analytics. Subject to Google's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
  • Google Fonts — Provides web fonts for typography. Google Fonts requests may log your IP address.
  • OpenStreetMap (via Leaflet) — Provides map tile rendering for the School Event Calendar tool. OpenStreetMap tile usage is subject to their tile usage policy.

We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of third-party services. Your interactions with these services are governed by their respective terms and policies. We make no warranties regarding the availability or reliability of these third-party services.

Termination

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of SchoolKit.tools at any time without prior notice or liability. This includes the addition, modification, or removal of individual tools, features, or the entire website.

Upon any termination or discontinuation, your right to use the affected tools ceases immediately. Any data stored in your browser's localStorage will remain on your device until you clear it. We are not obligated to provide alternative tools or data migration assistance.

Governing Law

These terms of service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States of America, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of SchoolKit.tools shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California. You consent to the personal jurisdiction of these courts and waive any objection based on improper venue or forum non conveniens.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, we reserve the right to seek injunctive or equitable relief in any jurisdiction where necessary to protect our intellectual property rights or to prevent imminent harm.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms of service at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and may provide additional notice on our website or through our tools.

Changes become effective immediately upon posting. Your continued use of SchoolKit.tools after any modifications indicates your acceptance of the updated terms. If you do not agree with any changes, you must stop using our website and tools and clear any locally stored data. We encourage you to review these terms periodically.
