About SchoolKit

Our Mission

SchoolKit is on a mission to make school administration effortless for every educator, administrator, and school staff member — regardless of their school’s budget or location. We provide free, browser-based school administration tools that save educators hours of manual work each week. Every tool runs entirely in your browser. No data leaves your computer. No account is needed. There are no limits on usage, no hidden paid tiers, and no time restrictions.

We believe that the people running our schools deserve better than spreadsheets held together by copy-paste and post-it notes. They deserve professional-grade software that handles the repetitive, time-consuming parts of school administration so they can focus on what actually matters: students, teachers, and creating an environment where learning thrives. Our tools are designed by people who understand the daily realities of school administration — the competing priorities, the tight deadlines, and the constant pressure to do more with less.

Since launching, SchoolKit has helped thousands of schools across more than 50 countries generate attendance registers, build exam timetables, plan bus routes, schedule parent-teacher meetings, and communicate with families. Each tool is built to be immediately useful — no training required, no onboarding calls, no learning curve. You open the page and start working.

Why Free?

Schools around the world operate on tight budgets. A typical public school allocates less than 2% of its budget to software and technology, and most of that goes toward essential infrastructure like student information systems and learning management platforms. There is rarely anything left for the day-to-day administrative tools that teachers and office staff actually need.

We believe that essential tools for school administrators should not require a purchase order, a lengthy procurement process, or a sign-off from the district IT department. A teacher who needs to generate a seating chart or an attendance register should be able to do it in under a minute without filling out a software request form.

By building tools that run entirely client-side in the browser, we have no server costs for tool processing. Every calculation happens on your device using the power of modern web technologies. This architecture allows us to keep every tool completely free for every school — with no per-seat fees, no usage caps, and no enterprise licensing.

Here is how the model works: the free tools you use today are our way of demonstrating the depth of our thinking about school administration. Every feature we build teaches us more about the real problems schools face. Over time, we are developing a comprehensive school management platform called EduPilotPro that will offer deeper integrations, team collaboration, data syncing across tools, and advanced reporting. The free tools will always remain free. The premium platform will be there for schools that are ready to take their administration to the next level. Think of SchoolKit as your introduction to a better way of running a school — no risk, no commitment, just immediate value.

Privacy First

Privacy is not a feature for us — it is the foundation upon which SchoolKit is built. Unlike many educational technology tools that collect, analyze, and monetize student data, SchoolKit processes everything locally in your browser. Student names, schedules, attendance records, parent contact details, bus routes — none of this information is ever transmitted to our servers.

You can verify this yourself. After the initial page load, disconnect your device from the internet and use any of our tools. Everything still works. Every calculation, every PDF generation, every export happens on your device using your browser’s own capabilities. We cannot access your data because we never receive it.

This approach has important implications for schools. It means you do not need to conduct a data protection impact assessment before using SchoolKit. It means there are no third-party data processors to audit. It means compliance with FERPA in the United States, GDPR in Europe, and similar data protection regulations worldwide is built into the architecture itself — not bolted on later through policy documents. We do not store your data, so there is nothing to breach.

We use privacy-respecting analytics that tell us which pages are visited without identifying individual visitors. We do not use tracking cookies, fingerprinting, or any other surveillance techniques common on the modern web. SchoolKit is hosted with enterprise-grade infrastructure, and we maintain strict access controls on the minimal server infrastructure we do operate. Your trust is our most valuable asset, and we protect it aggressively.

Our Tools

Every tool on SchoolKit is purpose-built for a specific school administration task. We do not build generic form builders or spreadsheet templates — each tool solves a real problem that school staff face regularly. Here is what we currently offer:

  • Academic Calendar Builder — Create professional, shareable school calendars with an intuitive drag-and-drop interface. Choose from holiday presets for 244 countries, color-code terms and events, and export to PDF or iCal format for distribution to parents and staff.
  • Attendance Register Generator — Generate printable monthly attendance registers in seconds. Import student rosters via CSV, mark attendance with a click, and export beautifully formatted PDF registers ready for filing or parent communication.
  • Exam Timetable Builder — Build conflict-free exam schedules with intelligent room allocation and invigilator assignments. The system automatically detects scheduling conflicts and suggests alternatives, saving hours of manual cross-referencing.
  • Parent-Teacher Meeting Scheduler — Create shareable booking pages that let parents select their preferred time slots. Manage slot availability, send automated email confirmations, and reduce the back-and-forth that typically plagues meeting coordination.
  • School Communication Templates — Access a library of over 50 professionally written communication templates in 20 languages, covering 244 countries. From field trip permission slips to exam reminder letters, customize and print in seconds.
  • Teacher Evaluation Rubric Builder — Design custom scoring rubrics with weighted criteria aligned to your school’s teaching standards. Generate comprehensive PDF evaluation reports for performance reviews and professional development planning.
  • Parent Satisfaction Survey — Create and distribute surveys using ready-made templates or custom questions. Share instantly via WhatsApp, email, or a public link, and export detailed summary reports to measure school satisfaction.
  • School Bus Route Planner — Map bus stops on an interactive OpenStreetMap interface, group students into efficient routes, calculate distances and travel times, and print route cards for bus drivers — all without any external software.

Who SchoolKit Serves

SchoolKit is designed for the full spectrum of educational institutions. Our tools are flexible enough to work in any school environment, from a one-room rural school to a large urban district with thousands of students.

Public and state schools — Schools operating within government budgets benefit enormously from free tools that eliminate the procurement burden. No IT approval needed, no vendor onboarding, no per-student licensing costs.

Private and independent schools — Smaller private schools often lack the administrative staff that larger institutions take for granted. Our tools automate the routine tasks that would otherwise fall to overworked teachers and principals.

International schools — With support for 20 languages and 244 country-specific holiday calendars, communication templates, and date formats, international schools find our tools particularly valuable for managing diverse communities across multiple cultural contexts.

Charter and magnet schools — These schools often operate with lean administrative teams and need tools that work immediately without training. Our zero-learning-curve design philosophy means any staff member can use any tool in under a minute.

Vocational and technical schools — With different scheduling patterns, attendance requirements, and reporting needs than traditional schools, vocational institutions appreciate tools flexible enough to adapt to non-standard academic calendars and program structures.

Preschools and early childhood centers — Small early education centers with limited technology budgets get immediate value from free tools that professionalize their parent communications, attendance tracking, and scheduling without any financial commitment.

Our Commitment to Data Privacy and Security

We take the security of school data with the seriousness it deserves. Our architecture-first approach to privacy means that data protection is not handled through policy promises alone — it is embedded in the technical design of every tool we build.

Because all data processing happens client-side in your browser, SchoolKit eliminates the most common attack vectors that plague cloud-based edtech products. There is no database of student records to hack. There is no API endpoint that leaks attendance data. There is no cloud storage bucket misconfigured to expose sensitive information. Your data never travels over the network, which means it cannot be intercepted, stored, or accessed by anyone, including us.

For schools that are evaluating our tools for regular use, we recommend a simple verification process: load a tool, disconnect from the internet, enter sample student data, generate your output, and confirm that no network requests are made. This transparency is our strongest security guarantee — you do not have to trust our word, you can verify our architecture with your own eyes.

Our website is served over HTTPS with modern TLS encryption. We maintain strict security headers and follow web security best practices including Content Security Policy headers that prevent unauthorized scripts from executing. We regularly review our dependency tree for vulnerabilities and keep all libraries up to date. The minimal server infrastructure we operate is protected by industry-standard access controls, monitoring, and incident response procedures.

The Story Behind SchoolKit

SchoolKit started with a simple observation from a friend who worked as a high school vice principal. She spent her Sunday evenings manually formatting attendance registers, exam timetables, and parent meeting schedules using a combination of spreadsheet software, word processors, and printed forms. She told us, “I spend more time managing the paper around education than I do actually supporting students and teachers.”

That conversation stuck with us. We started researching how schools across different countries handle common administrative tasks, and the pattern was universal. Schools everywhere were using outdated methods — paper forms, disconnected spreadsheets, expensive desktop software from the early 2000s, or nothing at all. The tools that did exist were either prohibitively expensive or required long implementation cycles that most schools could not afford.

We built the first tool — a simple academic calendar builder — over a weekend and shared it with a few educator friends. Within a week, it had been shared across multiple school networks. Teachers forwarded it to administrators, who forwarded it to other administrators. The feedback was consistent: “This saves me hours. Can you build one for attendance registers? Exam timetables? Bus routes?”

We kept building. Each new tool was shaped by direct feedback from educators who told us exactly what they needed and what the existing solutions got wrong. Our communication templates were built after a principal told us she was writing the same nine letters from scratch every term. Our parent-teacher meeting scheduler was inspired by a teacher who managed 150 parent interviews using pen and paper. Every tool on SchoolKit exists because a real educator told us they needed it.

Today, SchoolKit is used by educators in over 50 countries, from a primary school in rural Kenya to an international school in Tokyo to a public high school in rural Ohio. The need we identified in that first conversation with a vice principal turned out to be universal — and the response has been overwhelming.

From Free Tools to Complete School Management — EduPilotPro

SchoolKit gives you powerful individual tools that solve specific problems brilliantly. But we know that running a school involves more than disconnected tasks — it requires a cohesive system where data flows naturally between attendance tracking, scheduling, communication, reporting, and analysis.

That is why we are building EduPilotPro — a comprehensive school management platform designed for schools that are ready to graduate from individual tools to an integrated system. EduPilotPro connects the capabilities you love in SchoolKit into a unified experience with team collaboration, persistent data storage, advanced analytics, and automated workflows.

Imagine this: a teacher takes attendance using our register generator, and that data flows automatically into the exam timetable builder to identify students who need makeup exams. The parent-teacher meeting scheduler pulls student lists directly from your school database. Bus route changes trigger automatic SMS notifications to affected families. Survey results feed into a dashboard that tracks school satisfaction trends over time. This is the EduPilotPro vision.

EduPilotPro is being built for schools that have outgrown individual tools but are not ready for the complexity and cost of enterprise school management systems. It will offer role-based access for teachers, administrators, and support staff, with custom reporting, data import from existing student information systems, and integrations with popular learning management platforms. It will be affordable, implementable in days rather than months, and backed by the same privacy-first philosophy that defines SchoolKit.

The free tools on SchoolKit will always remain free. EduPilotPro is an optional upgrade for schools that want deeper capabilities — not a bait-and-switch, but a natural progression for schools that have seen what is possible and want more.

Our Vision for the Future of School Administration

We envision a future where every school — regardless of size, budget, or location — has access to professional-grade administration tools. A future where teachers spend less time on paperwork and more time teaching. Where administrators can generate reports, schedules, and communications in minutes instead of hours. Where the gap between well-funded and under-funded schools narrows because essential tools are freely available to everyone.

Our roadmap includes tools for student behavior tracking, lesson planning collaboration, substitute teacher management, fee and invoice tracking, and integration with popular learning management systems. We are also working on localization features that will make our tools even more useful for schools in non-English-speaking regions, with expanded language support and culturally appropriate defaults.

We believe that artificial intelligence will play an increasingly important role in reducing administrative burden. Our long-term vision includes smart assistants that can draft parent communications based on attendance patterns, predictive analytics that flag students at risk of falling behind, and automated scheduling that optimizes room usage across an entire school. These capabilities will be part ofEduPilotPro, powered by the deep understanding of school operations that we have gained through building SchoolKit.

Most importantly, we are committed to staying free for the schools that need us most. The free tools will continue to grow, improve, and serve educators who deserve better than spreadsheets and sticky notes. Every tool we add, every improvement we make, and every insight we gain brings us closer to the ultimate goal: making school administration invisible so that educators can focus entirely on education.
